1. Data controller and contact
TrueHumidity™ is developed and owned by Stevan Ethir. For personal data processed directly through the TrueHumidity service, the developer acts as controller where applicable law assigns that role.
Website: trueh.duckdns.org. Privacy questions, access requests and deletion requests can be submitted through the TrueHumidity Support page or through Feedback in the app.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the TrueHumidity mobile applications, widgets, website and related backend services. Features, advertising components and purchase options may differ by platform, edition, region and access status.
3. Location information
With device permission, TrueHumidity may access precise or approximate location to provide local weather, forecasts, humidity interpretation, actual air moisture, dew point, evaporation-related information, visibility, radar or precipitation information, alerts, widgets and local place names.
Coordinates may be sent to the TrueHumidity backend and, when reverse geocoding is needed, to OpenStreetMap/Nominatim or another disclosed location service. TrueHumidity is designed around current-location requests and user-selected places, not continuous background location-history tracking. Alert features may store coordinates selected by the user for the alert.
You can deny or revoke location permission in device settings. Some location-dependent features may then be unavailable or require a manually selected place.
4. TrueHumidity backend and technical request data
The app communicates with the TrueHumidity backend at https://trueh.duckdns.org/api. Requests may include coordinates, requested weather parameters, alert configuration, app/version information and standard network data such as an IP address that is inherently transmitted when connecting to an internet service.
These data are used to provide requested functionality, maintain service reliability, protect against abuse and troubleshoot technical problems.
5. Weather and environmental data
Weather and environmental information may be supplied or derived through third-party providers. The provider used can depend on location, coverage and availability. TrueHumidity may combine a regional radar observation with a model forecast for later points. Provider and source information is described on the Data & Sources page and, where supported, inside the app or API response.
6. Notifications and alert delivery
If you enable notifications, TrueHumidity may process alert preferences, an installation identifier, device notification tokens, alert coordinates and technical information needed to deliver the selected alerts. Android delivery may use Firebase Cloud Messaging. iOS delivery may use Apple notification infrastructure.
You can disable notifications in the app where supported or through operating-system settings.
7. Advertising, rewarded ads and consent
Some editions may include Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). Depending on the edition, access status, region, consent choices and feature, banner or rewarded advertising may be shown.
Google and participating advertising partners may process identifiers, device/app information, IP address, approximate location derived from network information, ad interaction information and consent choices, subject to applicable law and their own policies. Where required, UMP is used to collect or manage consent before eligible ads are requested, and a privacy-options control may be made available.
TrueHumidity does not itself sell payment-card details or maintain an advertising-broker database. Advertising-related processing performed by Google or its partners is governed by the applicable consent choices, law and provider policies.
8. Purchases, subscriptions and trials
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play on Android or Apple’s App Store on iOS. TrueHumidity does not directly receive or store complete payment-card details. The store may process purchase history, transaction identifiers, subscription status and account/store information under its own terms and privacy policy.
TrueHumidity may receive or verify entitlement information needed to unlock or restore purchased features. Trial eligibility and billing are controlled by the applicable store and the offer displayed before purchase.
9. Data stored on your device
TrueHumidity may store units, themes, saved places, alert preferences, widget state, selected locations, recent location-resolution cache and Premium/entitlement-related state locally. Removing the app, clearing app data where supported or changing settings may remove some or all locally stored data.
10. Third-party services
Depending on platform and edition, TrueHumidity may use Google Mobile Ads, Google UMP, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Play Services/Billing, Apple Core Location, MapKit, StoreKit, App Store and notification services, OpenStreetMap/Nominatim, weather/radar providers and related infrastructure.
Third-party services process information under their own privacy policies, licences and legal terms, and may change independently of TrueHumidity.
11. Purposes and legal bases
Where a legal basis is required, the basis depends on the processing and jurisdiction. TrueHumidity may process data to provide a feature you request, to perform or administer a transaction or service, for legitimate interests such as security, reliability and abuse prevention, to comply with legal obligations, or on consent where consent is required, including certain advertising-related processing.
Device location permission is controlled by the operating system. Advertising consent, where required, is managed separately from location permission.
12. Retention and deletion
Information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for requested functionality, alerts, security, service maintenance, technical troubleshooting and legal obligations. Location requests are not intended to create a permanent location-history profile. Operational logs may be retained for a limited period where reasonably necessary for security or troubleshooting.
Locally stored data can generally be removed by clearing app data where supported or uninstalling the app. Requests concerning backend data can be submitted through Support.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on your country or region, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Users in the EEA, UK and jurisdictions with similar frameworks may also complain to the competent data-protection authority. Users in US states, Canada, Australia and other jurisdictions may have additional statutory rights where the applicable law covers the relevant processing. TrueHumidity will not treat this policy as limiting non-waivable rights.
14. Children’s privacy
TrueHumidity is a general weather application and is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children beyond data technically necessary to provide a requested feature. Where local law requires parental consent for a type of processing, the relevant feature should not be used without that consent.
15. Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information handled by the service. No internet transmission, mobile application, server or electronic storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
16. International processing and transfers
Some service providers may process information outside your country of residence. Where international-transfer requirements apply to processing for which TrueHumidity is responsible, TrueHumidity relies on lawful transfer mechanisms or safeguards made available under applicable law and by the relevant service provider. Independent third-party services may also process information under their own terms and legal obligations.
17. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This policy may be updated when functionality, advertising, subscriptions, providers, legal requirements or data-processing practices change. The current version remains available at this URL and shows its latest update date.
